We showed you an analysis of the Knuxforum staff members in our last article. Now we’re going to talk about Knuckles96, the forum’s owner and arch-admin.
But before talking about him, we must know what a SmbX admin is.
The community has always been run by bad administrators, and Knuxforum is no exception. The admins were either overly strict or too tolerant. Either way, the community suffered, and endured. Over the time, the community lost its old glory and its user-base was ruined. That’s sad, but it’s also true. The leadership brought the community to its knees, and there’s nothing capable of saving it.
Knux, owning the self-proclaimed ‘largest SmbX forum’, is responsible for the community’s bad state.
But what has knux done to damage the community in such a way?
As we mentioned before in this article, the SmbX admin is either overly strict or stupidly tolerant. Knux is the latter, being very tolerant towards users who should have been banned long ago.
But this isn’t necessarily his fault, is it? He can’t make those users behave. He encourages them to be like that, because of his behavior.
Knux barely shows any sign of maturity or rational thinking. He’s as bad as those users who should have been banned from the boards. By acting like them and breaking forum rules, he encourages users to jump on his bandwagon as users are likely to follow the head administrator.
You’d think a half-decent administrator is listening to the users, no matter if their opinions regarding the leadership are bad or not. But knux is doing the opposite. He censors any group or users who try to criticize his leadership. He refuses to behave and take advice from his users. He refuses to realize his mistakes and flaws, preferring to ban those users instead.
And his influence is so strong that the users blindly follow him and descend to his level of maturity.
Is that knux’s fault?
Partly, it is. While the leadership damaged the community in a way or another, the community’s core problem is the user-base. It was doomed before it even started.
The community is based off a Mario fan-game. Mario is a magnet for kids. It’s impossible to prevent children from joining it. The average SmbX user doesn’t think about the community much. Knux is one of the many problems this community has. He can easily influence those users by offering them perks and power. And SmbX users like authority and power over others.
Power went right to their heads. They’d gladly join their administrator no matter if he is wrong or right.
That is why we think this community is dead and there is no cure for it. It’s irrecoverable. It’s dead. It’s nothing but a shadow of what it used to be.
